I decided to not riichi for a couple of turns in hopes of maybe drawing that 6p, getting a ryanmen wait or something.

I decided to risk dealing into west's hon/chinitsu since another hatsu had already been discarded. I was also pissed off and determined to win this hand.
He also probably doesn't have any other yaku right? I can easily recover from the mangan in the south round-

Then the mahjong gods decided to give me sympathy and gave me some awesome hands.
